Abby Hossack - Athletics Carnival
Last week our K - 2 students enjoyed their Athletics Carnival in some beautiful weather, and Abby Hossack in Year 1 claimed second place in her first ever race. This achievement is particularly significant as Abby was diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder at 10 months old, and her parents were unsure at the time how well she would be able to learn to walk, or run.
Her parents Heather and David said, “Watching Abby run and come second was very emotional for us. She has come so far in the past 7 years and to see her achieve this was just amazing. She ran beautifully and with such focus and determination. It was great to be able to celebrate the results of all her hard work in the many hours of occupational therapy and physio she has undergone in the years before starting at ACC.
God is so faithful and our hearts are full of gratitude and pride for giving us this amazing little person. She has shown us the meaning of believing in yourself and working towards your goals with perseverance and patience every day.
We know DCD does not go away but also know that Abby can achieve all she sets her mind to. ‘When the world tells you that you can’t, tell yourself you can and then do it!’ She certainly can ‘do hard things’ as the sign on her desk says!
We also wanted to pass on our thanks to Mrs Diaz and Mrs Pratt who have believed in her and taught her so well and to all the school staff who have surrounded her with the love of Jesus every day. Many thanks again!”
Caroline Matthews and Sarah Mosca - OnStage
Congratulations to Caroline Matthews and Sarah Mosca for being nominated to audition for OnStage 2022!
OnStage showcases and celebrates performances submitted by students for the 2022 Higher School Certificate Drama examinations. To be invited to audition is a fantastic achievement.

Jessica Hassan - NSW CIS
Congratulations to Jessica Hassan for winning silver in the 16 Years Girls 400m event at NSW CIS yesterday!
Jessica also won the 16 Years Age Champion (tied with Jessie Fotheringham) at CSSA Athletics, and won gold in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m events. Well done Jessica!
