This week we are excited to share with you the great achievements by Imogen, Riley, Taylah and Ryley as they each pursue their passions.
Imogen McConville
Imogen McConville started ballet in preschool under the expert tutelage of a teacher who performed with the Bolshoi Ballet in Russia. Imogen has been trained in the Russian ballet style of ‘Vaganova’ and combined her ballet training with elite gymnastics training for many years, until choosing to just focus on ballet.
Imogen says, “I love watching ballet, I think that it’s so beautiful. I have a really strong appreciation for it because it’s so technical and there is more to it than you would first expect.”
Imogen is one of our ‘Flexible Pathways’ students, allowing her to have extra time which would normally be during school hours to focus on ballet training.
This also allows her to take complimenting classes such as jazz and acrobatics.
We are delighted for Imogen as she has placed first in her ballet exam at her dance school and awarded an Honours with Distinction, which requires a final mark between 96 and 100%. Congratulations, Imogen!
Riley Martin
We would like to acknowledge one of our Distance Education students, Riley, whose illustration has recently been included into the book called, “I am experience". This children's book is a first for the author and is all about positive affirmations.
Well done Riley Martin in Year 5!
Taylah & Ryley Davis
A huge congratulations to Taylah and Ryley Davis on their recent achievements! Taylah Davis is studying a Certificate III in Retail at TAFE NSW, and has been selected a finalist for the 2022 NSW Training Awards - Western Sydney & Blue Mountains Region out of 2,000 original applicants.
To achieve this, Taylah entered a written application outlining her career and study achievements, team and communication skills and her ability to be an ambassador for training in Australia. After this, she was selected alongside 60 others for an interview, and is now one of 14 in the finals. She will be attending a formal dinner alongside her family next Friday night to find out the result. If successful, she will be the 'NSW School-Based Trainee of the Year' and go on to represent her region at state level. Taylah is hoping to complete management training at McDonalds, then to pursue a career as a Homicide Detective with the NSW Police Force.
Like his sister, Ryley is also passionate and driven. Since he was four years old, he has had an interest in motorbikes and at 16 years old, has been selected to go on tour with the Freestyle Kings in QLD and WA. He is the youngest person to backflip on a motorbike at a live tour, and is excited for the chance to showcase his skills as he travels around Australia.
We wish you both all the best in your endeavours!
