Noah Thomson (Year 1)

Noah and his work on display at Kedumba Gallery.

Noah’s artwork, titled “When I look up at the mountains” was selected by the gallery curator to be exhibited at the Kedumba Gallery in the Blue Mountains. In early March, Noah and his family and friends attended a private opening of the gallery to view and celebrate his exhibited works. The gallery staff were so impressed by Noah's ability to articulate potential meaning and the structure of the artworks in the gallery that when he expressed he made artwork, they gave him materials to draw. His work has since been selected to be exhibited as a part of their collection of drawings.

Noah first showed his artwork to Miss Morrison when he was in Kindy last year. She encouraged him to enter the ACC Portraiture Prize and Noah worked on his artwork during his lunchtime as her Year 11 students watched on in amazement at his abilities. Noah has worked consistently to improve and has grown in his practice exponentially in the last year. It is such a huge achievement to be selected to display his work at Kedumba Gallery.

Noah is passionate about creating art, particularly drawings, as a way of expressing the world around him. He is continuing to learn how to use this gift God has given him by experimenting with various materials and subject matter. We are so excited about the journey Noah is taking with his art-making practice and his ability to express the world around him through art.
