HEAD OF SCHOOL UPDATE Jonathan Brayshaw

Dear Parents & Carers,

It has been a pleasure to see our Secondary students return to campus after the Spring holiday break, ready to approach the final term of the academic year.

I am pleased to provide you with an update of some of the highlights that have occurred in Secondary School at the beginning of Term 4.

Student Leader Commissioning Service On Monday 13 October, our Secondary School gathered together to commission our 2025/2026 College Captains, Vice Captains, Prefects and House Captains.

At Australian Christian College, the notion of leadership has a Biblical foundation. It defines a leader through the way one lives out their faith in the service of others. There was no better example of such a leader than Jesus himself. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said:

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant” Matthew 20:26

Our newly appointed College Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects are called to imitate the example Jesus displayed in his life and death, by supporting the College’s vision and statement of faith. The College Prefects are an extension of the staff leadership across the College, and have a responsibility to shape a positive culture. Similarly, our House Captains are expected to support and exemplify the College values of courage, humility, respect, initiative, self control and trust. House Captains are responsible for strengthening a sense of belonging, teamwork and community within our houses - Brumbies, Eagles, Lions and Rams.

The College recognises that leadership is a gift from God, and personally expressed by Jesus, the Son of God. College Captains and Prefects are an extension of the staff leadership, and therefore have a responsibility to serve as positive role models.

Congratulations to the following students:

WATOTO CHILDREN'S CHOIR Alex Jacobi

This week, our College had the privilege of hosting the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda.

The choir performed for both our Primary and Secondary students during the day, filling our hall with joyful music, vibrant dance, and powerful testimonies of God’s transforming love. Students were captivated not only by the incredible performances but by the stories of hope and redemption that the children shared.

In the afternoon, ACC student leaders had the opportunity to meet with the Watoto leaders for a special time of connection and leadership development. It was an encouraging and inspiring session that challenged our students to continue carrying out the work of Jesus within our school community.

In the evening, our wider school community came together for a special event of praise and celebration, led once again by the choir. It was a beautiful night of worship and generosity that led to 13 children being sponsored through Watoto’s ministry.

We are deeply thankful to the Watoto team for their time with us. Their visit was a living example of God’s grace at work in the lives of His children. If you’d like to support the ongoing work of Watoto, you can do so by visiting the Watoto website.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” – Psalm 150:6

YEAR 12 CELEBRATIONS

Last term we farewelled our Year 12 students as they graduated from our College. Some of this cohort have been ACC students since Kindergarten, while others joined us more recently. Each of them has had an impact on our College community, and we pray that as they sit their HSC exams and continue their journey into adulthood, they keep their eyes on the God who sustains them. Please enjoy the images below of our Year 12 celebrations over the last week of term!
