Residential Week

The Residential week for our Distance Education (DE) students has been going brilliantly and comes to a close today. Our year 11 DE students have joined us on-campus at Marsden Park, while the rest of our DE kids have been spending the week at ‘The Centre’ in Dural.

Primary students played social ‘brain break’ games, spoke with a local police officer about the importance of road safety and also had the opportunity to practice their PE skills with sport coaches affiliated with The Centre. Secondary students were busy delving into practical lessons for Science, Art, Music and PDHPE and participating in THRIVE wellbeing and academic mentoring sessions. We’re especially grateful to our ACC Ministry Team for arranging a chapel service for all 350 students at Dural, it was a joy to worship together and hear from some of the staff about their faith in Jesus.

Without a doubt, the highlight of these residential weeks is the sense of community and connection that is cultivated, even in such a short space of time. Both the students and their parents are always greatly encouraged by the opportunities to catch up with friends, old and new, and share a meal or a hot drink together. As always, a huge thank you to our entire Distance Education team, on-campus staff and Head of DE School, Luke Reifler for making this week a success.
