PRIMARY SCHOOL UPDATE Miss Vivian Lee (Primary Community & Ministry Coordinator)
It is a joy to welcome our students and families back to another exciting season of learning, growth, and community. We pray that the holiday break provides opportunities for rest and refreshment, and we look forward to all that the God of the Bible has in store for our Primary School this term.
As we commence the term, we are encouraged by the words of Isaiah 40:31:
"But those who trust in the Lord will receive new strength. They will fly as high as eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not grow weak."
This wonderful promise reminds us that our strength ultimately comes from God. As students settle back into routines, embrace new learning, and navigate the opportunities and challenges of school life, we encourage them to place their trust in Him. God faithfully equips us with the strength, wisdom, and perseverance we need to honour Him in both the big and small moments of each day.
Throughout this term, students will continue to be encouraged to grow not only academically but also in Christ-like character. We look forward to sharing together in Chapel, community events, and the many opportunities to learn, serve, and care for one another. We are thankful for the partnership we share with our families and pray that Term 3 will be one in which our students continue to flourish as they grow in knowledge, character, and their understanding of Jesus.
100 Days of Kindy
In our first week of Term 3, we celebrated 100 Days of Kindy! Our College Principal, Mr Brendan Corr, came to read a story to our Kindergarten. Our Kindergarten students wrote 100 reasons why they love Jesus, interviewed our Primary Senior Leadership team who shared their favourite parts of the Bible and we concluded the afternoon with biscuit decorating and a picnic with our families.
We are so thankful for the preparation from our Kindergarten team and for the many families that came to support us.
MARSDEN BEAR’S ADVENTURES WITH 5S Mr Danny Somanader
Class 5S was filled with excitement this fortnight as we welcomed a very special guest into our classroom - Marsden Bear! Our students were absolutely delighted to have him join our community, and he was quickly embraced as an active participant in our daily learning and play.
Throughout the week, students demonstrated great care for Marsden Bear, including him in their group work and ensuring he was comfortable during rest periods. This provided a wonderful, practical opportunity for our students to model kindness and responsibility, reflecting the heart of John 13:34 where we are called to love one another. It was a joy to witness our students thoughtfully considering the needs of others, reminding us all that the habit of servant-hearted care often begins with small, meaningful actions.
MARSDEN BEAR’S ADVENTURES WITH 1K Mr Keaton Reid
1K was overjoyed with the news that Marsden Bear would be visiting us and joining in on our lessons. Marsden Bear has been sitting on the floor during lesson times, encouraging our class to maintain respectful and Christ- like behaviour. Everyone is eager to partner with Marsden Bear during all our activities.
Marsden Bear has joined us in Health and PE lessons, watching our techniques to build power and accuracy in throwing. In Mathematics, classmates who demonstrate diligence in our pattern development and skip counting skills were rewarded with some 1-on-1 cuddle time with Marsden Bear. In Narrative writing, he has helped the students consider exciting adjectives to depict outward traits of characters in their profile and deconstructed story scaffolds. We have all shared a tight hug with Marsden Bear in devotions, as we learn about how Moses, in his brokenness, is called to free and lead the Israelite people to the Promised Land. Marsden Bear has ridden a roller coaster of excitement in 1K and provided great support and comfort. We have been very grateful and hope Marsden Bear enjoys the next learning adventure with the next class.
NSWPSSA RUGBY LEAGUE SUCCESS
Congratulations to Year 6 student Samuel Saipaia on his outstanding selection in the 2026 NSWPSSA (NSW Primary Schools Sports Association) Under 12 Rugby League Team. Following an exceptional performance at the NSWPSSA Development Camp, Samuel will represent New South Wales at the School Sport Australia Rugby League Championships in Ballina this August. We are incredibly proud of Samuel's dedication, sportsmanship and achievement, and wish him every success as he competes at the national level.
