PRIMARY SCHOOL UPDATE Miss Vivian Lee (Primary Community & Ministry Coordinator)

Primary School has continued to learn, explore, and grow together as a community. We are thankful for the many opportunities we have had to encourage students not only in their learning, but also in their understanding of who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.

This fortnight, students gathered for our Primary Chapel where we explored Luke 8 and the account of Jesus healing the man possessed by many evil spirits. Together, we reflected on the truth that Jesus is King over the spiritual world and that His power is greater than anything we may fear. Students were reminded that those who belong to King Jesus can trust in Him completely and do not need to fear evil spirits. We were especially encouraged by Jesus’ words to the man after he was healed:

“Go home and tell how much God has done for you.” Luke 8:39

This was a wonderful challenge for us to consider how we too can speak about the goodness of the God of the Bible and share with others what He has done in our lives.

We also enjoyed a fantastic Jollybops Science Incursion across Kindergarten to Year 6. Students were captivated by the interactive science shows, which sparked curiosity, excitement, and plenty of laughter throughout the day. It was wonderful to see students so engaged as they explored scientific ideas through fun and memorable demonstrations.

We have also loved welcoming so many families to our Assemblies, Chapels, and College events over recent weeks. These opportunities to gather together are a valuable part of our school community, and we are thankful for the strong partnership we share with families in the learning and growth of our students. We warmly encourage families who are able to continue joining us for these special occasions throughout the term.

MARSDEN BEAR ADVENTURES WITH KH Mrs Nancy Hassaraty

Marsden Bear had the most exciting week ever with KH!

What a busy little bear he has been! Marsden Bear got to watch the spectacular Balloon Science Show and WOW - it was full of fun, surprises, and exciting science experiments! He absolutely loved it!

He also became a little scientist during our Hide and Seek with Caterpillars activity, where he created his very own colourful caterpillar and learned how caterpillars use colours to hide safely in nature. Marsden Bear went on an adventurous walk to the school garden for a ‘mini-beast’ hunt. He carefully searched high and low for tiny creatures and proudly ticked off all the minibeasts he found.

In Art, Marsden Bear created a beautiful beach collage inspired by Jeannie Baker. He carefully cut and ripped paper shapes to create the sky, rocks, water, and sandy beach. What a creative little artist!

Inside the classroom, Marsden Bear had so much fun creating amazing patterns with magnetic tiles alongside his friends in KH. He also worked very hard practising his tricky words and using his whiteboard - like a superstar learner.

To finish off his wonderful week, Marsden Bear visited the library and enjoyed reading a special book with the class. Thank you, Marsden Bear, for spending such a fun-filled week with KH! We loved all the adventures we shared with you and can’t wait to see where you go next!

6N WEEK 6 RECAP Miss Phoebe Nash

In Week 6, 6N has enjoyed several exciting opportunities for learning, connection and discovery. Our class had a wonderful time participating in the Jollybops Science Week incursion, where they explored fascinating scientific concepts through engaging experiments, interactive demonstrations and plenty of laughter. It was fantastic to see students showing curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm as they investigated the incredible world God has created for us to discover and enjoy. Jonah was able to send halos of gas to Miss Nash, whilst Rosie caused a chemical reaction.

We also greatly valued our Primary Encounter afternoon, which provided students with a meaningful opportunity to worship Jesus and strengthen our sense of community across the primary school. It was lovely to witness Year 6 students demonstrating kindness, leadership and servant-hearted attitudes as they interacted with others in the joyful presence of God.

As a class, we continue to reflect on how we can use our leadership to honour God in both our learning and relationships. We are so proud of the way 6N has embraced each experience with joy, respect and gratitude.
