PRIMARY SCHOOL UPDATE Mrs Katy Brierley (Head of Primary)
Gratitude: What a Privilege to Give Thanks! What a privilege it is to conclude our term with hearts full of gratitude to God!
We give thanks for our students and their ongoing growth and transformation: spiritually, academically, socially and physically. We are thankful that every child in our community is uniquely created in the image of God, known and deeply loved by Him. We also give thanks for our dedicated teachers and staff, who faithfully care for, teach and invest in our students each day. To our families and wider College community, thank you for the partnership we share in nurturing and supporting each child. Your encouragement, involvement and trust are a great blessing, and we are grateful to walk alongside you.
There is much to celebrate from the past fortnight:
Year 5 Service Weeks - Our Year 5 students demonstrated kindness, humility and a genuine willingness to serve as they looked for opportunities to bless others. This was a wonderful opportunity to develop the servant-hearted leadership qualities they will need as they pursue leadership roles next year.
Market Day - Year 5 and 6 students joined our Secondary students for Market Day, supporting Stage 5 students as they developed business skills through Money Matters. It was also wonderful to see students raising funds for Samaritan’s Purse to help with the shipping costs of Christmas boxes.
Year 12 Graduation - Our Primary students proudly formed a guard of honour to celebrate our Year 12 students on their final day of school. Presenting them with posters showing how each class had been praying for them was a particularly meaningful way to encourage and honour our graduating students.
Body Talks - Year 5 and 6 students explored the physical changes that occur as they begin puberty. This provided a valuable opportunity to consider the unique way God has created each of us and His provision for us as we mature and grow.
Year 2 Excursion - Our Year 2 students enjoyed an engaging day at Elizabeth Farm, deepening their understanding of their History topic. We were very proud of the responsible and respectful way they represented our school.
Kindergarten Screeners - It has been a joy to meet our 2027 Kindergarten students and their families and to begin welcoming them into our wonderful school community.
Reading - Our students have continued to embrace the joy of reading through the Premier’s Reading Challenge and a range of classroom reading challenges. Congratulations to Jonathan V and Vaasvik K on completing the 6R Challenge by reading 20 books across 20 different genres - a wonderful achievement!
As we look back on this term, we are reminded of God’s goodness and faithfulness. We are grateful for the many opportunities our students have had to learn, serve, grow and encourage one another. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. It is a privilege to share in the education and formation of your children, and we pray that each student will continue to grow in wisdom, character and faith.
What a blessing it is to belong to such a wonderful community.

CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENTS IN 3M Mrs Ashleigh McGowan
This year, six students in our class have been completing extension projects based on topics they are passionate about. It has been wonderful to watch their ideas develop and their knowledge, independence and confidence grow along the way.
In recent weeks, these students presented their projects to the class. 3M loved learning from their classmates and seeing the creative ways they shared their work:
Miriam explored why the guitar is so popular, even bringing her guitars along to demonstrate her learning.
Sophie investigated Australian animals and showed us her sketching skills with a beautiful drawing.
Olivia took us under the sea to learn about the Great Barrier Reef, bringing in a model and guiding 3M to create their own mini reefs.
Ian explored animal intelligence and taught us the fascinating ways they learn and solve problems.
Harrison took us far beyond Earth teaching us about galaxies and showing us just how big and creative God is.
Iliana taught us about the brain and dementia, using a model to demonstrate her learning before guiding 3M to create our own ‘brain’ hats.
A huge congratulations to all six students! I am incredibly proud of the commitment, creativity and curiosity they have shown throughout the year. God has gifted each of them with unique talents and abilities, and it has been wonderful to see these gifts grow as they have challenged themselves and pursued their learning.
CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENTS IN 6R Mrs Billie Reid
I had the honour of heading to Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday morning to watch Year 6 student Abigai M compete in the final game with her ice hockey team, the Sydney Bears. It was such a special opportunity to see one of our students shine outside the classroom!
Abigail put on a fantastic performance as goalkeeper, showing courage, determination and some seriously impressive reflexes in goal. She defended fiercely throughout the game and made countless saves, stopping several shots that looked certain to find the back of the net.
It was also so lovely to see Abigail’s dad coaching from the sidelines and supporting the team throughout the game. Seeing them share such a special achievement together made the morning even more memorable.
Her efforts helped the Sydney Bears secure the win and finish their finals campaign on a high. It was wonderful to see Abigail’s confidence, teamwork and fighting spirit out on the ice.
This achievement also follows on from another fantastic result last year, when Abigail competed at the Coffs Harbour tournament and her team placed first against teams from other states. It is wonderful to see her continuing to grow and achieve so much in the sport.
Congratulations, Abigail and the Sydney Bears, on an amazing achievement!
MARSDEN BEAR'S ADVENTURES WITH 1P Mrs Nikki Winkler
Marsden Bear has been enjoying some exciting adventures with 1P and has had the opportunity to see just how much our Year 1 students have been learning!
In Mathematics, Marsden Bear joined us as we explored number bonds, fact families, and related addition and subtraction number sentences. Through hands-on activities and class discussions, students have been discovering how numbers can be broken apart and put back together, while making connections between addition and subtraction.
Marsden Bear has also joined us during Bible Studies, where we have been learning about just how great our God is! We have discovered that God’s greatness is unsearchable and that our great God speaks to us through His Word, the Bible. Students have enjoyed exploring what the Bible teaches us about who God is and how we can know Him more.
It has been wonderful having Marsden Bear along for the adventure as 1P continues to grow in knowledge, curiosity and faith!
