PRIMARY SCHOOL UPDATE Miss Vivian Lee (Primary Community & Ministry Coordinator)

Starting Well It is a privilege to begin a new term together as a school community. As we commence Term 2, we are reminded of the words in Colossians 3:23 -

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

This passage encourages us to approach all aspects of school life with diligence, purpose, and a desire to honour the God of the Bible. At the beginning of this term, we are encouraging students to establish positive habits in their learning, relationships, and conduct, seeking to serve others with humility and integrity.

We also give thanks for our recent Primary ANZAC Day Service held on Monday 20 April. This was a meaningful opportunity for our community to reflect on the sacrifice and courage of those who have served our nation. As a Christian community, we are especially mindful that the ultimate example of sacrifice, courage, and love is found in Jesus, who gave His life for others. In Him, we are both shown and enabled to live lives marked by selflessness, courage, and genuine love for those around us.

A new term presents valuable opportunities for growth in both character and understanding, and we are grateful for the positive and settled start we have seen across the Primary School. We look forward to all that will be accomplished in the weeks ahead.

Primary Senior Leadership Team To support clear communication and effective partnership with families, we would like to provide further clarity regarding the roles and responsibilities within the Primary Senior Leadership Team.

Miss Jade Cowell – Head of Teaching & Learning (Primary) Miss Cowell oversees all aspects of teaching and learning, including curriculum, assessment, RFF (specialist) programs, and teaching practice.

Mr Shawn Parsonage – Assistant Head of Primary (Operations) Mr Parsonage coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Primary School, including playground and bus matters, excursions and incursions, sport, and staffing arrangements.

Miss Lara Dikha – Pastoral Care Coordinator Miss Dikha is responsible for student wellbeing, including behaviour support, peer relationships, counselling referrals, and the transition of new students into the school community.

Miss Vivian Lee – Primary Community & Ministry Coordinator Miss Lee leads the community and ministry life of the Primary School, including chapels and assemblies, student leadership, clubs, camps, and communication with families regarding events.

The Primary Leadership Team works collaboratively to support the diverse needs of our students and families. We warmly welcome direct enquiries to the appropriate staff member, with the assurance that each member of the team is committed to providing support and assistance as required.

Staff Welcome: Nicola De Silva We would love to warmly welcome Nicola De Silva, our Primary Learning Support Coordinator to our team, and look forward to the work that she will be doing in caring for the diverse needs of all of our students.

K-6 Cross Country Carnival We thank God for the beautiful sunshine that He provided for our K-6 Cross Country Carnival on Wednesday 22 April. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 enjoyed a day of moving their bodies and cheering on their peers with House spirit.

Year 2 Peer Support We are so excited to be able to have our Peer Support Program running this term again. Year 2 classes are meeting fortnightly with their Year 11 Peer Support buddies this term to talk all about gratitude. What does gratitude look like? What does the Bible have to say about gratitude? Who can you show gratitude to? How can you enact gratitude towards that person in a way they would appreciate?

See photos below of our Year 2 students enjoying their first week of Peer Support with their Year 11 Leaders.

The Next Fortnight
