Primary Swimming Carnival
Thank you to all our Primary students who participated at the Swimming Carnival today! It was a beautiful day and we were so impressed with the House spirit displayed. Results will be announced shortly.
Ministry Update - Mrs Vivian Booker
My name is Mrs Vivian Booker and my role at the College this year is Primary Ministry Coordinator. It is with great joy, excitement and thankfulness to God, that I get to provide you with our first update for Primary Ministry 2023. To God be all the glory!
Primary Chapel
At Primary Chapel, students have been hearing about the heart of Christianity - that the God of the Bible is our loving Creator of the world. We have been learning about our rebellion against Him and the kindness and grace of His Son, Jesus, who chose to take on the punishment we deserved so that we can have a restored relationship with God and be assured of salvation.
Our Chapel series aligns with Biblical Studies lessons taught by the classroom teachers of students. Our students have loved singing our theme song for Primary Chapel in Term 1: ‘Thank You God’ by Ben Pakula.
How can I be involved?
We have loved having many parents, carers and visitors attend our Primary Chapels fortnightly on Mondays, and continue to invite you to join us. Please continue to speak with your children about what they have learnt in Chapel.
Primary JOLT
Our JOLT (Jesus Over Lunch Time) clubs have also begun this term - and with a bang! We praise God for over 100 students choosing to spend their lunch times attending JOLT across each week. This term, JOLT is looking through the book of Luke in the Bible as students are challenged on who Jesus is and what it really means to follow Him.
Have a taste of the excitement by looking at some of our photos of Mini JOLT (Year 1 & 2), Junior JOLT (Year 3 & 4) and UP JOLT (Year 5 & 6)! We continue to welcome all students from any faith background to come along with questions and personally consider who Jesus is for themselves.
How can I be involved?
Please continue to pray for the JOLT ministry across Primary. Please pray in thanks to God for the opportunity that is made available for us to open the Bible freely with students, and pray that the God of the Bible will be working in the hearts of our students through His Holy Spirit to come with questions as they consider who Jesus is.
Term 1: Upcoming Primary Ministry Key Dates
CRU FIT (Followers In Training)
In a few weeks, Mrs Booker will be taking some Year 6 leaders to meet with students who also attend their JOLT equivalent groups in other schools. It will be a great time for leadership training and for students to be encouraged as they meet with other Christian students.
Year 6 Leadership Incursion
All of our Year 6 students were inducted as College Student Leaders earlier this term. We are excited to have an incursion later in Term 1 that provides training as they seek to serve our community like Jesus. Students will engage in a workshop learning about ‘Working in a Team with a Good Leader’.
Primary Easter Service
We will be having a special Primary Easter Service on Monday 3rd April, 8:50-9:45am. We kindly invite all parents, carers and visitors to attend as we hear about the true meaning of Easter from the Bible. More details on special student items are to come.
