An important announcement regarding the end of term with a form for all on campus families to complete, a COVID-19 update, and information about uniforms, road safety, Encounter Night and Vacation Care.

Important Announcement - ‘Community Service Days’ and Remote Learning

We have been advised that we will take official occupancy of the new building on the last day of this term. There are also significant changes to the location and use of a number of the current rooms which will be in effect at the beginning of Term 4.

To ensure that all of these necessary changes are in place for us to return in Term 4 ready to operate the school, we need to complete some significant preparation before we break for holidays. Over a dozen classrooms and several staff rooms need to be packed for relocating or refitting.

To help achieve this major undertaking we are declaring Thursday 22 September and Friday 23 September - the last two days of Term - as ‘Community Service Days’.

Students are invited to learn from home on these days if it is convenient. Work will be made available to support remote learning for students who take this option.

Students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 will participate in an offsite excursion on Thursday 22 September and are invited to learn from home on Friday 23 September.

Students in all other year groups who do attend campus on Thursday or Friday will either be supervised in alternative learning arrangements or will help with light duties to pack rooms and move some student chairs and desks into new areas or temporary storage. A professional moving company will be engaged to move large and heavy furniture.

To assist us with managing these days, please fill out this form ASAP to inform us of your intentions regarding your child/ren’s attendance on campus on these days.

Thank you for your ongoing support of your children and the College. We value working in partnership with you in their care and in the progress and improvement of our school.

COVID-19 Update

The AIS have issued an update on current COVID measures. The requirements are still that any positive case must be reported to NSW Health and to the College, and that positive cases must self-isolate. However, the period of isolation has been reduced from 7 days to 5 days unless acute symptoms are still present.

Close contacts are allowed to attend school but are recommended to wear a mask for the next 10 days to reduce the risk of transmission.

The College will be issuing another pack of Rapid Antigen Test kits to students before the end of term.

Road Safety at Riverstone

The College has confirmed reports about unsafe practices by a number of our students at transport exchange at Riverstone. Students are placing themselves at serious risk by crossing the road in the face of moving traffic and away from safe crossing zones.

If you are a parent of a child who uses buses that stop at Riverstone, please have frank conversations with them about road safety and sensible behaviour. We all want to do what we can to ensure that students are always safe from harm or possible injury.

Correction to Orientation Date

In the previous newsletter, we listed Thursday 8 September as the date for ‘2023 K - 11 New Student Orientation’. However, please note that this date was incorrect and that new students starting in 2023 will have their orientation on Thursday 24 November.

School Uniforms

For any families who require new uniforms, please note that orders required for back to school 2023 must be placed by 20 December. For more information about school uniforms for Term 4 or the start of 2023, please click here.

Encounter Night - Secondary Students

We are excited to host another ‘Encounter Night’ for our Secondary students on Wednesday 14 September. Our hope is that each student who attends will experience the promise that comes in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

While this is a free event, if you would like your child to attend, please register them here for supervision and catering purposes.
