Child Protection
ACC Marsden Park is committed to being a child safe community and we uphold the principles recommended by the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG). The OCG standards can be accessed here.
In keeping with this commitment we encourage all parents to also be vigilant about child safety. We want to know about and to help any child who might be in danger or at risk or who has been subject to unsafe behaviour from others, including adults.
Such situations can be delicate and sensitive and so we ask that you follow our recommended procedures. If you have any concerns about the safety of your child or about the behaviour of an adult towards your child, please report it immediately to the Principal or to a member of the College Executive Team. We will take your concerns seriously and employ our well developed and well supported process to protect and ensure the safety of our children.
Complaints Procedures
We work very hard to show uncommon care to every child and family but we know that, despite our best intentions, we don’t always get it right. We welcome feedback of this type and the opportunity to correct our mistakes and to learn from experience. To help both you and us navigate those circumstances well we have clear processes for you to raise concerns or present complaints to us for review. Our College Complaints Handling policy, along with other helpful policies, can be found in the Menu of the College’s webpage.
Annual Review of Contact Information
It is vital that we have up-to-date information about your child and your family circumstances to ensure we can provide the best care we can for your children. This includes current parent contact information; emergency contact information; changes in health status or alerts; and opt out for photography to be published on our social media pages or in internal newsletters.
If you need to advise us of a change to the information we have currently on file, please email marsdenpark@acc.edu.au with any changes so we can update our records.
