Reminder about Campus Parking

While the College has taken all measures required of it under planning regulations, we know that parking on and around the campus is often difficult.

Late last term we had a visit from the Traffic Management Team at Blacktown Council who offered some very specific advice and provided us with clearer information about the regulations related to parking as it applies around the College.

We are continuing to engage with Council to better cater for their requirements and the College’s needs. We are also trying to be creative to open more options to address the issues in a practical sense.

While those future options develop, in the interim please note:

  • Parking along Farm Road must only be parallel parking (no nose or tail in parking). All road signs should be complied with. Correct parallel parking will mean that the roadside tyres are on or have contact with the bitumen road surface.

  • The Traffic Management Team from Blacktown Council have advised that they will patrol the area and will enforce these regulations, issuing fines and demerits as appropriate.

Upcoming Parent Seminar - Patricia Weerakoon Event

We have an exciting event happening here at the College on Tuesday that we would love for you to attend. Patricia Weerakoon will be speaking to our parent community on the topic: 'A Christian Perspective on Sexuality and Parenting in a Hypersexualised World'.

Patricia trained in medicine in Sri Lanka. She is an academic, sexologist and writer. As a sexologist she has translated her passion to bring good holistic sexual health to all people through practical sex education, research and therapy. She is an evangelical Christian, a recognised media presence, and a popular public speaker and social commentator here in Australia.

This event is free to attend, but places are limited so we encourage you to RSVP as soon as possible. We will also be collecting a gold coin donation at the door to go towards our partnership with Samaritan's Purse, helping to bring new school buildings and educational resources to children in need across the Asia Pacific region.

Please see details below:

Date: Tuesday 2nd May

Time: Arrive from 6:30pm, seminar runs from 7:00pm - 8:30pm (please note the end time was originally 8:00pm, however a Q&A session has been added at the end).

Location: MPC/Gym at Australian Christian College, Marsden Park. Address is 69 Farm Road, Angus.

Patricia will also have books for sale at the event, you will be able to pay for these with cash or EFTPOS if you are interested in buying one.

We look forward to seeing you at this important event.

Student Health Reminder

Term 2 is the typical beginning of our ‘winter’ orientation. Students are now required to be in winter uniform. It is also the period in which colds and flus become more common.

Wanting to learn lessons from our experience in managing infection can we remind you of the following that can help keep all our children well.

Reducing illness

Please keep children at home if they are unwell. If your child is showing signs and symptoms of cold and flu (such as runny nose, fever, body aches, nasal congestion) or other symptoms of other sickness (vomiting diarrhoea) please keep them at home.

Return to School

Children who have been away from school due to illness should remain at home for at least 24 hours after their last display of symptoms.

Notifications of Illness and Absence

Please notify the College as soon as possible if your child is absent due to illness. In addition, please inform the school if your child/ren has an infectious disease throughout the term so that we can help manage the possible spread.

If you have any questions about the above, please contact me at berniceappiahquaicoe@acc.edu.au.

Kind regards,

Bernice Appiah-Quaicoe
