Meet the ACC Team

This week we are introducing you to Mr Jonathan Brayshaw, our Acting Head of Secondary.

Tell us a bit about yourself - when did you start at ACC and what is your role?

I've been in education for about 10 years, working in a number of roles in Middle and Senior School contexts, in Australia and Canada. Prior to that I initially worked in marketing after completing a Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology, Sydney. I joined ACC Marsden Park in October 2021, and since the beginning of Term 4 of 2023, I have been the Acting Head of Secondary.

What do you love about your job?

It is a joy to serve at ACC. In my role as Acting Head of Secondary, my role is to lead and manage the organisation of Secondary School. This includes establishing a culture of care and learning, student wellbeing and behaviour management. Ultimately, that means I have the privilege of ensuring that our students are well known, well loved and well taught. I love helping students discover their God-given gifts and helping them succeed in whatever God wants them to do. I also enjoy working with staff in teaching behaviour, and partnering with parents in helping their children grow and develop.

What does a typical day look like for you, and what is coming up that you are looking forward to?

On a typical day, I meet with staff, students and some parents for a number of different reasons. I interview prospective students and their parents, who are interested in joining ACC. I like to be an active presence across our campus, speaking to students and observing the learning that takes place both in and outside of the classroom. I also dedicate time to work on projects that support the vision in Secondary School.

I am looking forward to the Secondary Celebration Assembly, when our Secondary School will come together to acknowledge what God has been doing in and through our students in 2023! It is evident that God is at work in our community, and it is truly a blessing to be a part of God's work here. I am looking forward to all that God has planned and will do at ACC in 2024!
