This week we are introducing you to Mrs Natasha Collins, our THRIVE Wellbeing Coordinator in Secondary School.
Tell us a bit about yourself - your background, experience, when did you start at ACC and what is your role?
I am someone who delights in the array of hats God has blessed me with - I am a mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife and a friend of many. I have a background as a trained English and Drama teacher and have previously served as the Ministry Coordinator at the College. I have been a part of the ACC family for a decade, currently as a teacher, Year 8 Advisor, and Wellbeing Coordinator.
What do you love about your job?
My passion lies in working with young people during these crucial adolescent years. Navigating the challenges of teenagehood is no small feat—adolescents undergo profound changes, their world is in constant flux, and they yearn for guidance. As a teacher, I take immense joy in supporting students in discovering their true identity in Christ, fostering their faith, and guiding them through the intricacies of school, relationships, and life.
What does a typical day look like for you, and what is coming up that you are looking forward to?
A typical day for me involves collaborating with a dedicated team to support our students. Whether teaching an English class, sharing a Bible lesson, or engaging in conversations outdoors, I cherish every opportunity to connect with students and contribute to their growth. As we approach the year's end, I eagerly anticipate memorable experiences such as enjoying 'The Importance of Being Earnest’ production, participating in our ACC Carols event, and attending the Year 10 Celebration dinner.
