This week we are introducing you to Ms Amanda Clark, our Learning Enrichment Coordinator (K - 12).
Ms Clark has been teaching in Independent Schools for 19 years, in a number of roles, including Primary Teacher, Gifted and Talented Teacher, Head of K - 2, Acting Head of Junior School and Head of Learning Enrichment. In her spare time, she enjoys caravanning, exploring new places with her daughters, and tackling DIY projects.
In her role as Learning Enrichment Coordinator (K - 12), Ms Clark is passionate about providing reassurance and care to students, and strives to be the person that ‘builds them up’.
“I believe it is so important to not only tell, but show students that with commitment and hard work, they are capable of achieving anything. The Learning Enrichment Centre at ACC creates a safe place for our students, where teamwork and empathy are rewarded just as enthusiastically as a good test score. Through love and understanding, I believe we can help our students achieve their highest potential.”
Our Learning Enrichment team works with students across the school, either one-on-one or in small groups, in intervention, extension and enrichment. They provide the support each child needs to develop vital language, literacy and numeracy skills, along with practical life-skills and strategies.
In addition to this, the team works with students to find their unique talents, foster their individual strengths, ignite a passion for learning and support them to fulfil the dreams they have for themselves and develop in their areas of interest. For students who want to extend their learning, there are opportunities throughout the year to participate in academic competitions.
We are delighted to welcome Ms Clark to our team and encourage you to reach out to hear if you would like any information on the programs we offer, for either support or enrichment. She can be reached at amandaclark@acc.edu.au.
